Bernice & Mary Photo Shoot

I was recently appointed a "Fashion Insider" for Bernice & Mary.  It's an uber cool online Canadian fashion boutique that is launching at the end of September.  The photoshoot took place this weekend, and I was so excited to be a part of it. I got to meet more of the team and see some of the pieces. Can't wait for the launch. I've already started a list of items I want to buy!

Monday Muse: Olivia Palermo

One look at my Pinterest boards and you'll notice that I'm completely obsessed with Olivia Palermo.  Her style is so elegant, yet cool - a breath of fresh air from the typical punk/grunge look we're used to seeing on off-duty models.  These are some of my favourite looks.

(Almost) The End of Wedding Season

6 out of 7 weddings down!  1 left to go!  It's been a pretty busy summer attending all of these weddings.  On the bright side, I can make use of all the dresses and high heels in my closet.

Statement Necklace

I was recently appointed as a "Fashion Insider" with Bernice and Mary - an uber cool Canadian online fashion boutique that is launching Sept 23rd.  I had my first meeting this week with the social media team .  I'm very excited and happy to be part of the team! To prove my worthiness as a Fashion Insider, I decided to bust out the statement necklace.  I absolutely love this necklace - the fan shape, brass chain, and colourful crystals localized just in the right places.

Herve Leger Magic

Every girl needs to have an "I'm sexy and I know it" dress.  It's the dress that makes you feel like you brought sexy back and can bring all the boys to the yard.

Mine is a black, 3/4 length sleeve Herve Leger (I got this bad boy for 60% while on a trip to NYC!)

Herve Leger dresses somehow magically shape you by cinching you into the perfect proportions of "woman".  (Actually I think they have a patent on the elastic technology). 

However, with the "I'm sexy and I know it dress", one can easily accidently step over the boundry into trashy/overtly sexy category, if one is not too careful.  I appreciate the fact that my dress has sleeves to balance out the tightness and the high skirt.  Also given that I have an "asian chest", the low neckline doesn't look too vulgar.

The key to keeping it classy is to remember is that it's all about balance - if you're going for legs, maybe cover up the arms.  Lots of cleavage, then go with a longer skirt.  Backless, then maybe cover up the front.
